Free website QR code generator

A website QR code opens a web address when someone scans it with a phone camera. Paste your link, style the code and download it. The link is stored in the code itself, so it never expires.

How to make a website QR code

  1. Paste the full web address, starting with https://.
  2. Optionally add UTM tags so visits from the code show up as a campaign in your analytics.
  3. Choose colors, a dot style and a logo in the Design tab.
  4. Download a PNG or SVG and test-scan it with your phone.

Tips for a code that scans first time

  • Shorter links make simpler codes that scan faster from further away.
  • Keep dark modules on a light background; inverted codes fail on some scanners.
  • Use SVG for print. It stays sharp at any size.

Website QR code questions

Will my website QR code stop working?

Not because of ScanMeFox. The address is encoded directly in the code, so it works for as long as that web page is online.

Can I track scans of a website QR code?

A static code can't count scans by itself. Add UTM parameters when you create it, and your web analytics, such as Google Analytics, will show the visits that came from the code.

Can I change the link after printing?

No. A static code's content is fixed. Changing the destination after printing needs a dynamic code, which is planned for ScanMeFox Pro.

Static QR codes from ScanMeFox are free, have no watermark and don't expire. Learn more about ScanMeFox or read how we handle your privacy.
